John Michrina was appointed to the Monroe Police Department on October 10, 1984. He was appointed Chief of Police on September 11, 2001. Prior to his appointment, Chief Michrina served as Deputy Chief of Police for two years. He has also served as a patrol lieutenant, patrol sergeant, vice detective, and patrol officer.
Chief Michrina holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Security Administration from the University of Detroit-Mercy and a Master in Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University. He has also completed the FBI National Academy Class #230 and the Eastern Michigan University School of Police Staff and Command.
Thomas Moore was appointed to the Monroe Police Department on February 15, 1985 . He was appointed to Deputy Chief in December of 2001. Prior to his appointment, Deputy Chief Moore served as patrol lieutenant, vice detective, field training officer and patrol officer. Deputy Chief Moore has attended Madonna University, Eastern MIchigan University, and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University School of Police Staff and Command.
